The Animal Caregivers’ Support Circle 

 

April: Wednesday, 4/10, and Sunday, 4/14

 

May: Wednesday, 5/8 and Sunday, 5/19*

                

The ACSC is a monthly gathering for those who are:

  •  Caregiving for an animal friend who has special needs
  • Anticipating the loss of an animal companion that has been given a life-limiting diagnosis, or is aging
  • Grieving the death of an animal friend, recent or in the past 

 Within this confidential circle a safe, caring and supportive environment is created for you to share your journey.

Holiday Fundraiser Success!

The Holiday AHELPer Appreciation Party and Reception was held on December 15, at  Northwest Cellars. The celebration included selling AHELP-labeled wines:

“Furever Friends Red” Merlot

“White Whiskers White” Adagio

which AHELP received 40% of  the purchased proceeds from these wines.

This event is not only for volunteers, but also to welcome community members who seek information about AHELP, all in a festive and pet friendly venue. Come join the fun where you and your animal friends can all enjoy yummy food and refreshments.

40% of purchase proceeds from these wines go to AHELP, either at the event or through the Cellars’ website. Just specify AHELP Labels when purchasing Adagio or Merlot when following the link below (note that our labels are not pictured here). All of the $8 advanced purchase or $10 admission proceeds go to the AHELP Project. Funds raised will go toward continuation of our community programs and AHELP’s application as a charitable non-profit organization (501c3) in early 2013.

Prior to the Holiday Party and Reception, AHELP and MEOW Rescue will co-sponsor this educational program with Mary Pittari, DVM of Peaceful Parting.com, who will share her experience with in-home veterinary care through her feline-exclusive veterinary practice.AHELP director Michelle Nichols, MS, will present a background in animal hospice, and tools and tips for caregivers to be “A Help” along the journey.Also featured will be guardians relaying their “Real Life Stories of Feline Hospice”. The audience will be able to learn from their experience with peaceful in-home euthanasia and hospice-assisted natural death.There will be a short Q & A, and light refreshments will be served. Just five minutes away, you can meet the speakers and continue the discussion at our Reception to follow. Admission to this event is by donation, and we thank you greatly for contributing to our donation jar, in order to continue bringing you these fine educational programs to you!
